If I see one more “Galentine’s Day” post, I might have to place myself into a wine & chocolate haze, but I do enjoy nothing more than purchasing new makeup when I’m feeling blue. And being single on Valentine’s Day, this is a perfect reason (see: excuse) to treat myself to some new cosmetics! It just so happens that many of them seem to be rose inspired- perfect for that day which we shall no longer speak of, lol. 😉
At this point, I am pretty much tired of “liquid lipsticks” and was pretty excited to see that Colour Pop was finally coming out with some really creamy lipstick tubes. It seems Kylie Jenner beat them to the punch on this one, but at $7.00 each, I am looking forward to picking up a couple of these babies when they launch on 1.31.18 at 1:00 p.m. EST. The three nudes below are definitely the ones I gravitated towards first, and there are a few mauve/pink ones that I am keeping an eye on in case they sell out quick.
Does anyone else like to go to the Nordstrom makeup department when they are feeling down? Well, much to the chagrin of my Nordstrom credit card, I found myself in there over the weekend picking up a few Spring essentials some friends were raving about & that I have been adding to my wish list.
My new obsession is this Chanel Le Blanc Light Cream Primer in Rose. It gives just enough of a glow without being shimmery, and ensures my makeup stays flawless all day long at the office. The Herbivore Botanicals Coco Rose sampler is great because you get to try 3 of their best products: the body scrub, the rosewater spray and the lip balm. This Guerlain Bloom of Rose Blusher in Morning Rose is such a subtle light shade of pink, I really like how it not too “bubble gum” pink and it works well on my medium skin tone since my tan is long gone.
My local CVS & Walgreen’s started carrying some of those new Wet N Wild highlighters that I had mentioned earlier, but I also saw these Jordana Triple Play Blush creme sticks at $4.99 each. I picked up petal pink and nude peach and I have to say the quality is right up there with some of the top department store brands. What about you? Have you tried any new rose-inspired products lately? Wishing everyone a great week! ~xo, J~
