The breath of fresh air you may have seen breezing though the world of fashion lately is none other than The House of Perna, founded by the lovely Amanda Perna. Amanda was born and raised in South Florida where she began her love affair with fabric at a young age. After studying apparel design at The University of Alabama, she went on to work for some of the fashion world’s most prominent designers before branching off to launch her own fashion house. Amanda brings to this brand an extensive fashion resume including stints with Calvin Klein, Oscar de la Renta, in addition to joining the ranks of the many prestigious designers chosen to grace the catwalk of Project Runway.
The House of Perna S/S 13 collection, entitled Decometrix, mixes the vibrant, bold, sexy colors of Miami with the edgy style of New York City. Amanda’s chic designs of flowy gowns, patterened slacks and breezy skirts are certain to make any woman to feel sexy and confident. It is easy to see how the patterns & styles would flatter any woman’s body type. According to The House of Perna, this collection “represents the beach, the neon lights and the old world glamour of Miami, as well as the tall buildings, the living underground and the infinite shades of gray that represent NYC.”
Unfortunately due to scheduling conflicts, I was not able to meet up with The House of Perna when they were in South Florida recently shooting their collection, but I look forward to meeting the team one day. They are all very lovely and I enjoy tweeting with them! For more information on The House of Perna, please check out their website, blog, Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter accounts.
