Hi Friends! Happy Wednesday! The holidays are here and I’m sure you have been filling up that social calendar with dinner parties, work functions and girl’s nights where you just need a few Mistletoe Martinis to relieve the stress! Well, just in time for your holiday fashion needs, I’ve been introduced to an amazing new shopping concept for those ladies who just don’t have the time to hit the stores.
W by Worth is a $100M luxury fashion clothing company based in NYC. In business for over 25 years, they are the pioneer in the direct-to-consumer sales model. Currently the brand has about 500 stylists throughout the country representing W by Worth. The clothing line consists of carpool to cocktail pieces meaning they have casual clothes, dresses, professional clothing, they have it all! The style is contemporary, classic and consists of true timeless wardrobe-builders for people who like to have a few outstanding, quality outfits! The average price point is about $250 (comparable to Saks, Rag & Bone, Bergdorf’s quality). To keep the styles fresh and unique, Worth (wbyworth.com) develops four exclusive collections a year.
Their stylists are independent contractors and start out doing quarterly shows utilizing a sample set that is owned and insured by Worth. Typically, the women have their first show week with a smaller, introductory set and then eventually sell the full set as their client base grows larger. During the assigned show week, you would make appointments with potential buyers. A trainer is available before and during your show week to help set you up for success. You make 25% commission on items sold. Typically, their stylists make about 5K per show week to start. Now that’s some nice holiday pocket-money!
Start-up costs are minimal and they provide you with unlimited training, inventory (you don’t buy any inventory), marketing support, e-vites, look books and images, back office support, accounting, your own URL for your website, and even velvet hangers.
