While most of the country is grasping on to those last few days of summer, here in Miami we will pretty much be enjoying “summer” at least until daylight savings time. However, that doesn’t mean I can’t get excited about trying out some new makeup for the upcoming months.
Just because you may soon have to trade in those sandals for booties, you don’t need to immediately switch to darker Fall tones. You can transition some end-of-summer makeup essentials into the Fall-idays with a trip to your local ULTA Beauty or Ulta.Com! I am excited to share with you some of my top picks from ULTA Beauty for a perfectly fresh Fall face.
This NYX powder & matching concealer are must-haves in my day-to-day makeup kit. The powder is non-chalky and just a few taps of the included puff gives you a shine-free face that will take you from the boardroom to cocktails after work. The concealer is full coverage and applied with a concealer brush it covers my dark circles effortlessly. I keep one in my purse and one in my desk & at under $10 each, why not?
I’ve really been getting into Tarte lately and their “Showstopper” clay palette is absolutely adorable. The cool tones are very flattering and the darker terracotta inspired tones are great for a darker Fall eye. I love mixing & matching them with other colors I already own. The Tarte Park Avenue Princess powder is amazing for highlighting and contouring as well!
The Too Faced kit here includes their 4 top-selling items, and since I had never tried any of these 4 products previously, I thought it would be a great way to try out some new mascara & primer. The primer really helps your shadow last and not crease which always seems to be a problem and why did no one tell me that their bronzer smells like cocoa powder? Chocolate without the calories.. I’m sold! It’s great for keeping a little bit of that beach glow as you make your way through Indian Summer. I always love a nude/pink lip because it is polished and professional for the office and you can transition into Fall with a darker tone or even a matte stain to give it a little bit more drama! The NYX matte lipcolor below is one of my favorites and if the matte seems daunting to you, you can always swipe a little NYX butter gloss on top. Tea Rose and Madeline are a great pink/nudes that works with a variety of skin tones.
A big trend I’ve been noticing for fall is a flushed cheek, which can easily be accomplished with a matte blush or by gently swiping a creme blush, followed by a touch of powder on top. It is great if you are doing a minimal lip/eye combo, to really make the cheeks pop. I love the Japonesque powder blush and the Becca beach tint (I picked up grapefruit), which are available in a rainbow of colors. Check out the gallery below for some of my favorites, all available at ULTA Beauty! (Click on each photo to enlarge) Happy Thursday! ~xo, love~
