Happy November everyone! I don’t know about you but I am officially in full holiday mode. I decided not to fight it this year….even though it’s not quite Thanksgiving yet, I’ve embraced the holiday music on the radio, smiled when I saw holiday decor in the stores, and even indulged in a little Gingerbread Latte fun yesterday at Starbucks.
While I love all the things I just mentioned, one of my other favorite things about the holidays is the charitable giving. People love to open their hearts and their wallets for amazing causes all over & it really warms my heart to see such generosity.
While I have been living in the sunny sands of Miami for quite some time, I grew up in Pennsylvania & attended college in Philadelphia. I love keeping up with Philadelphia brands like Suburban Square & fab bloggers like Kate Concannon on Twitter & Pinterest, so I was thrilled to receive a lovely e-mail from the public relations gals at Philly PR Girl sharing an amazing charity event with me.
Per the official event press release, provided by Philly PR Girl:
The Delaware Valley Legacy Fund (DVLF) is excited to announce that its 8th Annual TOY event will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Fire & Ice. TOY is DVLF’s annual holiday fundraising event that raises money to support organizations serving the LGBTQ community while providing toys to benefit local children in need. Every year more than 400 guests come together at the best LGBTQ fundraiser in the city, as voted by Philadelphia Gay News three years in a row.
Guests can enjoy a night of dancing, light bites and charity-filled fun with one ticket purchase and one unwrapped toy donation. Proceeds from the event will support DVLF’s mission of meeting the emerging needs of the LGBTQ community. As in years past, the community additionally aims to make the holidays a little brighter for the area’s bravest children with the donated toys to benefit patients at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and children served by ActionAIDS.
Tickets are now on sale for $75 in advance or $95 at the door. For more information, please visit www.dvlf.org. To receive the latest updates, follow along on Twitter and on Facebook.
So if you’re in Philly, please check out this amazing event for an amazing cause, because when you do something good during the holidays, something good is sure to happen to you.. it’s the circle of charitable giving! 🙂
Coming up next on love and labels, I can’t wait to share an amazing holiday gift guide & some great discount codes to help with the holiday shopping. Have a great week everyone! ~xo, love~
