Submitted for your approval: I have lipstick overload. I have waaaayyy too many and now that it’s “Fall” and my tan has disappeared faster than the tv show Grand Hotel (which I loved BTW), I was in desperate need of something new. I am sick of my liquid lipsticks and my mattes and my Chanels, and I needed a change.
I had only heard of the brand Morphe because of their brushes. I started to see people talking about YouTubers doing makeup collabs with Morphe and there was a lot of negative press surrounding it. I had never really watched “YouTubers” so I had no idea who these people were. But I am sure you know what I am referring to…..thousands of lipsticks complaints on Twitter about this brand! It was unlike anything I had seen before regarding a beauty backlash.
I came across this post from an account called DupeBoss on my Pinterest page one day and I loved it….I went to the Morphe website to explore for a bit and found this lipstick and another that I really loved. Only $9.00?! Wow, okay great, I thought, let’s give it a try. I purchased Caught & Shady.
As soon as they arrived, I swatched them on my hand and loved both…I couldn’t wait to go to work the next day to wear one. I barely swiveled Shady up just enough to apply it to the lip, and could literally feel the lipstick moving, as if it wasn’t properly attached to the bottom.
Both lipsticks feel as if they are about to fall out…. I don’t know what’s going on, but obviously there is some problem with their quality control. I really, really do love Shady and I even ordered a new one to give them a second chance. It is a nice, creamy consistency that does not disappear. The color is perfect on me, it stays really well and doesn’t have any type of uncomfortable smell.
Does anybody else have problems like this with Morphe lipsticks falling out when they are brand new? Are all Morphe lipsticks like this, or am I just the lucky one? Here’s hoping the second order is better than the first! Have a wonderful long weekend! ~xo, J~
